v1.4

The “tablets aren’t just stretched phones” release.

  • Side-by-side landscape game — on iPad and Android tablets in landscape, the board now sits on the leading edge with the score header and number pad in a column on the trailing edge. No more vast empty bands on the sides; thumbs land where they rest in landscape grip. Portrait orientation is unchanged on phones and tablets alike.
  • Larger boards on tablet landscape — 9×9 board cap goes to 720pt (was 640), Kids 4×4/6×6 cap to 640pt (was 560). Bumps only kick in for the new landscape layout; portrait keeps the original sizing so thumb reach on iPad portrait stays comfortable.
  • Side navigation on tablets — iPad gets a sidebar with the four tabs via NavigationSplitView; Android tablets get a NavigationRail on the leading edge. Phones keep the bottom tab bar. Saves vertical real estate where it matters.
  • Modal sheet sizing — the Stats sheet stops stretching edge-to-edge on big tablets; capped at 560pt for legible line lengths. iPhone gets a draggable half-sheet.
  • Hardware-keyboard support — on iPad with Magic Keyboard / Smart Folio, or on Android tablets with a Bluetooth or chassis keyboard, you can now play without touching the screen:
    • 1–9 to place a digit (NumPad too on Android)
    • Arrows to move the selection
    • Backspace / Delete to erase
    • U to undo
    • Esc to deselect
  • Keyboard-aware focus — the game board auto-focuses when a game starts, so the very first key press lands.
